Flowyoga is a blend of traditional and modern yoga. It is rooted in the ancient system of Tantra, which aims to awaken the Kundalini, balance the chakras, and transform physical energy into meditative energy. Through meditation, we find the stillness that reveals the truth of this oneness.
Flowyoga encourages graceful, expressive movements, which reflect the subtle sensations that arise when moving energy through the body. Transitions from posture to posture are smooth and continuous, like a dance. Attaining extreme postures is not the aim of this yoga practice. The aim is to feel your body, centre your awareness, and relax fully into the moment.
Flowyoga was developed by Kaila Kukla in 1990.
Gentle Flow is for those who enjoy the Flow, but at a gentler pace and still honouring the moving meditation we all know and love. Very similar to the regular Flow, but without inversions. Adaptation and modifications of postures are always welcomed and encouraged. A relaxing class to end the week with!
Chair Yoga If cranky knees or physical setbacks are making you rethink your yoga practice, this CLASS is for YOU! Enjoy the freedom and flexibility to adapt and modify yoga poses using a chair for standing poses and an alternative to seated poses on the floor but still honouring the fundamentals of a good yoga practice with support & balance. This is a gentle, yet resilient practice to encourage strength and support and is an Inclusive and authentic way to practice yoga safely and mindfully in class or anytime you’re in need of a quick yoga fix at your desk, office or airport lounge.
Yin Yoga is restorative and very relaxing, holding postures for 2-3 minutes, with a one-minute resting pose between each asana. This style focuses specifically on the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, low back and thighs. Postures are mainly done on the floor. Participants are encourage to hold the pose, feeling a delicious sensation and apply their breath to achieve a deeper meditation and awareness of the moment and their bodies.
Yoga Nidra is also referred to as yogic sleep, or non-sleep deep rest in Western neurological research. It involves adopting a restful pose (shavasana) and engaging in guided meditation that brings your awareness to each part of your body in turn. The overall effect is energizing, healing, and relaxing. Yoga nidra is gaining attention in the West because it allows you to reinvigorate yourself without post-nap grogginess. It’s also been shown to improve cerebral blood flow, attention, sleep, and memory. The benefits of yoga nidra can be experienced by anyone, in any condition.
